| Welcome |
On behalf of the Centennial Committee, I am delighted to welcome you all to the Aranui Primary School Centennial celebrations.
We hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to visit your school, to meet old friends and classmates. Our centennial celebrations are a special chance to recreate old school times, to reacquaint and reminisce together about the old days. During the weekend we hope you also enjoy the company of the many adults who have also either attended or supported Aranui Primary School over the past 100 years.
Our school community also welcomes you back to Aranui. I am sure that for many of you, you will be aware that there have been many changes to what school was like when you were there. Certainly for me, I think a mix of old and new is the best combination. Our programme gives you a chance to see what Aranui Primary School looks like in 2011. One of the activities ‘Are You Smarter than a Year 8 (Form 2) Student’ will give teams an opportunity to show if ‘the old way’ was better. We also see this as a huge opportunity to make connections for our current students as they learn about the history of the school and Aranui community. We hope that you will enjoy seeing the changes both in our school and in education, as well as catching up with your friends and teachers of yesteryear.
The Centennial Committee, current staff and students have worked enthusiastically to organise a wonderful programme of events for us all to enjoy together.
Kind regards
Mike Allen
Principal
